Part 1 - Trans-Women in Sport: Reviewing the Science
youtu.be/EwFZBG_ts4k

Hopefully many of you will find this bit a distraction from some of the associated vitriol of recently AND some interesting results and analyses that haven't really been thrown into the mix yet. They appear to cast a little bit of doubt on the suggestion that simply suppressing exogenous testosterone will "do the trick" and neutralise the sporting advantages of male pubertal development.
Last part of the video is an update on the Caster Semenya situation as she pursues the IAAF through the Swiss federal courts.

Timeline:

00:00 Intro (including why this video and my own personal defence against accusations I receive that I have no genuine interest in this subject)
07:20 Preliminary findings into strength pre- and post-transition from a study ongoing at the Karolinska institute in Sweden
17:29 A graded performance analysis on the powerlifter Mary Gregory (giving quite dramatic results)
31:35 Larger 2018 (pub 2019) study into (amongst other things) haemoglobin levels in trans women shows a larger disparity than earlier 2014 study
40:58 Refresher on the Caster Semenya case and an update on where it stands right now (with some illuminating remarks from the Swiss court)
