Here's my suggestion - mix up some paints and play! Give yourself the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. You'll surprise yourself - I guarantee it. And you'll have lots of fun!
Now grab yourself some paints and BE FEARLESS!
My transparent base coat is 2 parts PVA glue with 1 part gloss varnish, thinned with water. I dispersed my TLP Abalone in JoSonja Gloss Varnish (about 1/2 ounce) and then added that to 20 ounces of my thinned pouring medium, which made it iridescent but still transparent.
I will DEFINITELY be doing this again! Comment and let me know how you would use this 😀

I 'rescue' any paint that gets spun or tilted off by scraping it off of the table, straining it and saving it to use as a base coat for future pours. Very little waste!
