Hi, welcome to the second video in my van build series. In this video, I'll discuss why I chose a cargo van instead of an RV to travel in, and then I will give a comparison of the different cargo vans out there. Enjoy! Subscribe for more!

Note about dimensions given in video:
The measurements given in this might not be perfect. Before starting any build take your own measurements. I got these numbers mostly from searching around online and with some cross checking against notes I had from looking at vans and measurements of my own van. The website I found the most useful for a comparison of dimensions is the sportsmobile van-dimensions page: sportsmobile.com/van-dimensions/. It is also important to note that the lengths are not going from the front seats all the way to the back doors (as typically measured in OEM specs). I don’t consider every inch of that buildable space. The measurement goes from the point where a partition would be installed (generally cabinets can’t be built any further forward then this even in a design without a partition) to the rear column just before where the inset area for the doors is. This means there is typically about another 6-7” from this point to the middle of the doors, and while this space provides some more elbow room or room for things to stick out in the back, it isn’t very buildable space in my opinion as it is significantly narrower.

![No Flares? No Problem. Try This Wall Panel Build Instead
Want to sleep sideways in your van _without_ using flares? I built custom wall panels that extend into the window bays to get over 6 feet of bed width. In this video, I’ll show you how I built them, why they work, and how they compare to flare installs. A smart, stealthy solution for maximizing space in any van build.
