Here's a behind the scene of my G1(Generation 1) Optimus Prime transform animation between his robot and truck mode, made entirely in Minecraft Bedrock edition.

Growing up in a modest income family, my favorite cartoon hero character Optimus Prime is one of those toys I'd love to have but never got, and I remember crafting my very own out of stuff like match boxes, plasticine clay, and Lego bricks. Adult me now do own a couple of Optimus Prime toys for nostalgia, and also wanted to re-live a bit of that childhood by building Optimus in Minecraft.😉
I've recently learned how to animate statues in Minecraft with the use of Structure Blocks, but with next to zero knowledge of how to do animation, this "project" took way longer for me to do than initially thought.😅 Most of the time are just me doing minor tweak to the models between frames, so the animation would flow smoothly while keeping the aesthetic. Even though all the problem solving has been quite challenging within the limitations of the game, it was extremely satisfying once I finally figured it out. I would like to do more of these if I have the time.😁 This took me more than a month just to make a less than 10 seconds animation.😅 (Also for the longest time, I was contemplating on how am I going to make a full video of essentially a 6 second clip.😜)
Due to "software" restrictions, this is more a "morph" than an actual mechanical transformation. I have based and referenced the old G1 Transformers cartoon, specifically the way they animated the robot conversion and applied it on my own. This is the first time I'm doing something like this, pretty sure there's loads to criticize and I'm all for any pointers on how it can be improved.
