This is not much of a tutorial but a sharing of how I made the Mario theme in Minecraft with Note Blocks. There's a lot of tutorials on YouTube that's really good but most are pretty "intimidating", at least to a music dummy like me. I can't play any instrument and I don't know how to read a music sheet. 😅
This is a very simple one block per note build, and I made the full Mario main theme with Bell sound, by using Note Blocks placed on Gold Blocks. You can make yours in other instrument using different blocks (might I recommend Emerald Block for the 8bit sound😉). I've sectioned the FULL Mario theme into roughly 5 parts, and this part 1 intro is a good and easy way to start. (the Mario theme is actually pretty long.😬)
May be I'm new to making music in Minecraft. But to start, you'll need some basic knowledge of how Redstone items work. My method is to write each note and timing (the delay on Redstone Repeater) on different colored Signs where the Note Blocks and Repeaters are placed. That way if you make a mistake (trust me, you most likely will) there's an easy and immediate reference there. 🙂
Also, building the structure above ground allows you to easily change the instrument sound, preferably with the use of /fill-replace command.
