There are few better ways to get a feel for a new city than hopping on a tram and letting it do the work. We boarded Darmstadt's Tram 9 at the Schloss station and rode it out to the Böllenfalltor, filming along the way as the city shifted past the window — neighbourhoods changing, streets widening and narrowing, everyday Darmstadt life playing out just on the other side of the glass.
