Prep for training out and about by first visiting the area to:
Relax and settle
Explore and sniff
Socialize if appropriate
Play with your dog
Work on distractions
When you first start training out and about:

Ask for less than you would at home
Use a higher rate of reinforcement than at home and expect less precision
Warm up with attention games and moving away from your dog to build their interest in you
Work on strong behaviors you have already mastered at home
It might take multiple outings just visiting and exploring locations before your dog will enjoy a training in that location
