So this is the updated version of my third origin video which covers that one whistle which I wasn’t able to find the full sound effect at the time, until another user (either Super Foxy Railway Productions or Aiden Andrews or someone else I forgot who) went to a third party website and found the unaltered sound effect.
The following pieces of media of which the SFX was used in are listed below:
- Spongebob Squarepants: Countless episodes including Professor Squidward (That one episode featuring Patrick Star driving a small train during Squidward’s lecture) and other episodes including the Alaskan Bull Worm, Face Freeze, as well as The Great Patty Caper which the Oceanic Express is featured as the Underwater variant of the Orient Express. Get the reference?
- Revolution (NBC Reality TV series) Season 5 Episode 5: Soul train
- The Simpsons (no joke): Used in the episode “The Itchy and Scratchy Movie,” where Itchy (the mouse) becomes an engineer to kill off Scratchy (the cat) I’ll post a link later.
- Camp Lazlo: Apparently there were some episodes which this sound effect was used in, but I have lost track.
- Other sources which I am not aware of, if suggested by my followers that I shall update the description, then I would continue listing other sources.

So why is the St Louis San Francisco (SLSF/Frisco) #1522 the candidate anymore? During the time the 4-8-2 was pulling excursions, pulling freight or even starring in a movie starring Gary Sinise in the movie “Truman” back in 1995, there were no other steam locomotives active in the areas where the 1522 was operating at the time. Unlike the ones on the C&TS, where there were multiple steam locomotives operating at the time (or maybe earlier, probably back in ’93) which would lead to a conclusion that on the Cumbres and Toltec K-36 #484 is the real candidate. Another thing I would like to point out is that the whistle the 484 was using was a DT&I Flat Top 5 chime, which sounded very similar to the D&RGW 5 chime, although slightly different.
Speaking of which, if you listen hard enough, you can hear a whistle in the background between blasts.
Also there are two other whistles included in the same sound efect which I didn’t include in this recording, but I’m gonna share them anyway. The C&TS also had a Reading 6 Chime whistle (which can be heard in the middle of the recording (either from the 489 or another C&TS locomotive from a different time when this was recorded, probably in the 1980s I dunno) and the last whistle heard in the rest of the sound effect is the Powell 3 Chime which the 489 was equipped with in the 1990s.

Now before anyone asks, this video isn’t 100% accurate with the translation, and if anyone asks why there isn’t enough rolling stock or scenery in the background of some shots, I’d blame the switching crew responsible for arranging the consists between shots. Either that or it’s perfectly fine, it’s just that it was filmed further away from where all the consists were. Oh well.
Anyway, this is the first ever parody/remake of Gintama I have ever made! I know that I should’ve used Japanese locomotives and rolling stock which would’ve been more appropriate for me since the audio is already Japanese, but what the heck, anyone can learn Japanese, even us Schewpid Americans! lol.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own the original audio clip, nor do I condone the act of pickpocketing. A crime such as this must be tolerated by any means necessary.
As for the 2479, I was going to give her a voice, particularly one from MLP, but I decided not to but instead I dubbed her whistle in that clip. Same goes with the SD45, except I forgot to add the bell sound for good ol’ Gintoki. Oh well, it still works even without the bell.
If anyone doesn’t know, at 0:19, I included a sound bite of Joseph Joestar (who shares the same voice as Gintoki) from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures: All Star Battle R, which is basically the element of surprise in this video. The surprise that is, being bumped by a little kid. Talk about tough luck, even in a busy rail yard. You live and learn, what can I say?

This one took me a lot longer than I thought after I finished my homework for today, but here’s another Simpsons Movie clip I decided to remake! If you don’t know what’s going on, allow me to elaborate.
BREAKING NEWS!!! It is day 37 since the US Government has placed a huge dome over Springfield, and most of its citizens are losing their sanity! Their only news anchor, Kent Brockman, is trying his best to keep the town he loves informed for any future updates, whether or not the situation will worsen.
Over at Moe’s Tavern, we see Moe, Carl, Barney and Lenny trying to stay sane, until the power goes out. That’s when things start to get weird.

Clip 1: As dawn breaks, an SP manifest freight train flies through a crossing while the engineer widens the throttle to keep up with their busy schedule.
