Our traffic signal engineers are undertaking the largest ever review and recalibration of Melbourne’s traffic signals. With Melbourne’s population predicted to surpass Sydney’s by 2032, we’re working to get maximum efficiency out of existing arterial roads, helping us to support this growth. Thanks to investments made through the Smarter Roads program, the expanded team is equipped with has access to hundreds more traffic monitoring cameras and sensors and additional specialist personnel to undertake these reviews at double the pace they were previously able to achieve.
