Time for Author Medal: 17.598
If you just look at the layout of this level, it looks pretty simple, but getting a fast time is a lot more complicated than it would look, as with all simple levels in Trackmania. You'd think, "just go straight down at full speed until you get a lucky run 4Head!" That would be incorrect. There's a turn at the beginning, so you won't be able to line up exactly straight no matter what, and if you could, there's a pillar in the middle anyway. This makes it pretty hard to keep stability while going fast.
Fortunately, the author medal is REALLY easy on this level; it's one of the easiest in the game. It actually crashes near the end, so you have a wide window if you're just looking for the author medal.
I included 2 runs in this video. The first one I recorded in like 2 minutes just to show a simple route to get the author medal. The other is my pb, which I included to show a more optimized and complex route.
Guide: This will probably be a bit contradictory. If you're just looking for an easy author medal, line up just a bit to the left or the right at the top. Then, you pretty much just go straight forward lol. However, you'll want to let go of the throttle at certain points either to minimize air time or to make your run smoother (I let go on the first downhill to gain speed). Adjust to the left or right as you go to make sure you don't flip or lose stability. If you can do this and maintain enough speed, this should be simple. You don't have to follow exactly what I do. This is a good level to experiment on when to hold the throttle and when not to. This is pretty easy whether you're using a keyboard or controller.
For the more advanced route, pretty much just try to copy the line. On the second jump, airturn to the left. Straighten yourself back out as you land on the bump thingy and try to stay on the ground as much as possible. If you get it right (which will probably take plenty of attempts), on the next jump, you'll hit the middle of the next bump upon landing. This is followed by a really hard jump to stabilize, and sometimes you'll just hit the roof (controller recommended for this one). If you get it right, you should be lined up to hit the booster at the end after the final jump (I think).
