If frequency response ripple ≥ 10 dB throughout the operating frequency take action and:
- reduce the distance between microphone and SUT but no less than the minimum recommended measurement distance of 1.5× baffle diagonal, or;
- move both loudspeaker and microphone—while maintaining their spatial relationship— away from less absorbent boundaries and towards more absorbent boundaries, or; reorient both loudspeaker and microphone—while maintaining their spatial relationship—or;
- reduce room interaction by adding absorption to the room, or; move to a bigger room, or;
- make the measurement outside, ideally on a calm day.
