The patch 1 is an official patch. The patch 1 and UKBox executables are very similar. Officially, the patch 1 fixes an issue with the CD and framerate, but there are a few differences :
- The patch 1 can skip the fmv videos.
- The patch 1 overwrites the previous executable so it can be used with both versions of Floating Islands.
- You don't void when being clamped by a skewed low ceiling.
- You're not pushed back in the special spot in Offshore Rig.
The patch can be found here web.archive.org/web/20021118224626/http://www.traider.pl:80/tr2p1.exe (a different date links to a different patch version)
The patch 1 can be found in at least 2 different magazines.
Generation 4, issue 106, January 1998 (French magazine)

Most magazines have the patch 2 instead which was built 1 week later. These 2 magazines have the patch 1 exe. I've only found it in english.
Another patch has been released, called Patch 1.1 and Patch 2. Patches 1.1 and 2 are actually the same executable. They're similar to the multipatch exe, with the notable ceiling bug.
The patch 1.1 can have the same name as the patch 1 tr1p1.exe which may be confusing.

![TAS Spelunky 2 No Seed Any% in 32.583s Switch
This Tas was made with libTAS 1.4.5 and Yuzu mainline 1640, a Switch emulator. I used libTAS to record the input frame by frame, save states and encode the video. I didnt use Tas features of Yuzu.
The main features of this Tas is that its in unseeded mode and also that its a Switch Tas.
The Tas works because Spelunky 2s levels are very short. It would be hard to make a Tas on Switch for any other game. This version of Yuzu is multithreaded so it does not always stay in sync with what I recorded. I kept notes at what frame each level ended to make sure it stayed in sync when playing back. I put a save state before each level and I exported each level separately with a bit of margin before and after, and then I played back the same level using the same save state and checked that the level ended on the right frame. Then I put another save state, etc. After exporting videos of each level, I joined all videos together.
I could have improved menuing in the beginning. When I started the Tas I was experimenting with settings to keep the Tas in sync as much as possible. With a better seed I could get a teleporter in the first level, but after playing a bit I saw this seed was good anyways because more of the levels ended on the same side as the entrance. A handheld teleporter would be faster because the telepack keeps your upward momentum so you have to land before you can exit a level.
libTAS File and Yuzu config I used:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/ervoucmmtu01u87/Spelunky2tas-32-583.zip/file
Im not sure when the RNG seed gets set but when I play back the Tas, if the 3 other spelunkers are in the correct spot in the lobby it means that the RNG seed is the same as the one I recorded the Tas with. If theyre not in the same spot, I stop and restart the playback.
Game executable: /home/tas/yuzu-linux-mainline/yuzu-cmd
Command-line options: -g /home/tas/Spelunky 2 switch/Spelunky 2 [01007EC013ABC000][v0].nsp -c /home/tas/.config/yuzu/custom/01007EC013ABC000.ini
Thanks to people on the libTAS Discord for helping me, and Kilaye for making libTas and improving it for Yuzu. TAS Spelunky 2 No Seed Any% in 32.583s Switch](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/LsoJ4Kqd8Xs/mqdefault.jpg)
