As a special request I posted this simple and quick student assignment on calculating speed. It is a short assignment that requires students to manipulate distance and time measurements for conversions of speed. Students may choose or be assigned a few cars and they set up a miniature speed trap and figure out if the small cars are speeding and if so what should be the assessed fines. They are required to show their calculations for each trial. Additional materials are rulers and timers.
