Homemade Science with Bruce Yeany | Whisper tube science demonstration /// Homemade Science with Bruce Yeany @YeanyScience | Uploaded 9 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
The whisper tube is a 35 foot long vacuum hose that is able to carry whispers for the length of the tube with very little loss of energy. Even though the person speaking is 35 feet away, to the person listening, it sounds just as loud as if the person were standing right next to them. If a vacuum hose is not available, it is possible to perform the same demonstration by rolling sheets of paper into a long tube. We have repeated this demonstration with twenty foot length of tube made out of rolled up newspaper sheets and have gotten the same results.
