The collection includes more than 24 miles of marine sediment cores and tens of thousands of marine rock specimens that showcase a peek into Earth's past from its climate to biology and volcanic activity.
The facility also houses the largest collection of geological samples from the Southern Ocean, with a large refrigerated storage section and a walk-in freezer for Antarctic ice cores.
