If Stage 4 wasn't the difficulty spike, then Stage 5 most definitely is. The biggest thing is, you remember those enemies in the second half of Stage 4 that prevented you from getting to the vortexes cause they blasted the hell out of you with a slew of aimed shots? Now imagine an entire stage full of them. The stage itself honestly isn't too bad most of the time (though things can get really dense with the star lines that'll curve in random directions), but the biggest thing is, unless you've memorized when those fairies spawn in, you pretty much need to stay on the bottom of the field ready to react to them at all times. Getting near the middle of the field just is not safe in this stage.
Ryouko on the flip side is an... odd fight. You know how I compared the difficulty curve of this game to Len'en 1? Not that she drones on and on mind you (this entire video is shorter than Clause's pre-fight dialogue in Len'en 4) but rather... I question the logic of her ability. Her non-spell's are about as difficult as you'd expect from Stage 5, but for most of her spell cards, she'll actually fire these harmless mist clouds at you that erase her own bullets... It definitely becomes a necessity to make use of in some of her spells (and the spells get very easy once you understand how to make use of that), but it is still very strange to face a boss whose own ability is making the fight easier on me.
