This stage is your traditional Touhou difficulty spike, though it's not as bad as most games. Biggest thing to worry about though is some choice tough enemies will need to be taken out with the quickness here, or else they will start filling up the screen with a ton of bullets. Aside from that, also keep in mind that after the halfway point in this stage, from then on you're pretty much going to be ignoring the resource vortexes. Not to say they're impossible to get, but generally from that point onwards they're pretty much more trouble than they're worth.
Akami's an aka-shita, a type of smoke/cloud youkai. As such, that's the theming of many of her spells, making them hard to see/focus on in general. In some cases she will use literal smoke to make it hard to see, in other cases however she'll use the large bubble bullets for many of her spells, which as you know is very disorientating, since the hitbox for them is much smaller than the bullet themselves. Her attacks generally aren't too bad to deal with, you just need to keep a real close eye on what she's firing at you exactly.
