A clear of the Extra stage in Imperishable Night without focusing.
In the Touhou shooter games, focusing slows your movement down, making it easier to make small, precise dodges. It also makes your hitbox visible, which makes timing dodges easier. By not focusing at all I have made it much more difficult to avoid the bullets, especially during Mokou's non spell card amulet spam attacks.
This actually isn't too hard to do for IN Extra, but this is truly a spectacular run for this type of challenge - ten cards captured (really should have been eleven, I was robbed on Hourai Doll) and only two deaths.
I didn't decide to no focus this until after the first few waves of enemies. It was really sort of a whimsical, on the spot decision. I proceeded to just try and do everything the same way I do it during a normal run, which worked for everything except for Possessed by Phoenix. Someday I should figure out some method for the second wave of that no focus so that I don't embarrass myself so badly in future no focus runs .
