A good friend of mine watched my NB and told me I could probably perfect the stage... and that gave me the idea. Why not, right? So I set off to learn the patterns that I died to, get consistent, and keep on attempting that NMNB. And I got it!
My first ever perfect Extra! :D :D :D
It was extremely tensive and dodging the final spell after capping the timeout was probably the worst tension I've ever felt. My heartbeat turned crazy immediately as the spell began and I was constantly gasping, my hands shivering, while carefully dodging the pattern, which thankfully succeeded! Then one big gasp when Koishi exploded, followed by more gasping and my heartbeat calming down.. xD What an exciting run.
...oh yeah, usually I would comment on whatever part of the run I failed at in my description... but... :')
While attempting this NMNB I mostly had trouble with Philosophy of a Hated Person; well, the second phase of it. I got multiple 1MNBs or 2MNBs in which everything went perfectly except for that particular section. I then went to practice it until I could capture it three times in a row, after which I was confident. But I still failed on the run. I took a break for about half an hour, and guess what? Immediate NMNB! Breaks ftw. c:
Also, given I did the stage NMNB, obviously my highscore increased by a lot, given the huge clear bonus. Even though I wasn't playing for score, this is my best Touhou score to date by a long shot, it being ~75.2% WR. (the first time breaking the 3/4 mark too!) I have only done one actual scorerun though, and that was formerly my best score.
Gladly I got back on my old score.dat so my score is actually saved on there. Yay. This time I wasn't too lazy to do a Normal 1cc to re-unlock Extra after the Easy 1cc glitch locked it up.
