When the Pixel Mixers' Nov 2021 contest theme was announced as Touhou vs. Falcom, as rad as songs from the latter are I couldn't go against my love of 2hu tunes. This arrangement was meant to be - I had found a very rough work in progress flute/clarinet duet from *2009* on one of my backup drives 😮
Of course, I like to assume we are better at both playing and arranging than...... 12... years.... ago.... so this was starting fresh from some piano sheets/midi bases and whipped up to taste, and crafted up a piano part to compliment the doots.
These two pieces were both a lot of fun to play and note how similar they are that you can stack them and it works really well!
sorry not sorry we turned the ZUNpets into flute and clarinet lines and I changed the key of the modulation because it was gross and big nope to playing in C# major when I could play in D instead haha.
also because my buddy is super good and the whole stage took less time than our audio look it's our cats again oh darn.
