Europa Barbarorum is something of a legendary name in the total war modding community - for many years EB1 was the absolute gold standard of modding quality, with brand new units, factions, gameplay mechanics and an almost fanatical devotion to historical detail and accuracy. Then, when Medieval 2 Total War released, the EB team created their own sequel using the new engine. This is the result. A bit of a marmite mod these days, EB2 Is an immersive and educational experience that takes you on a trip through the classical world. As a result, traditional total war campaign gameplay takes a back seat to immersion and roleplaying which means it's not everyone's cup of tea, but what's undeniable is the level of polish and professionalism that the team have put into their product over the years.
