Hey Birt! | Total Refurb – Refurbishing a Commodore 64 system for my nephew @HeyBirt | Uploaded February 2022 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
Video sponsor: PCBWay: $5 for 2 layer PCBs with 24hr turnaround at pcbway.com
In this video I set out to refurbish a Commodore 64 system for my nephew. My nephew Matt was sort of like a kid brother to me. His dad was the one who introduced me to the C64 in fact. When I heard he was interested in getting a C64 I was happy to pull once from my stash and refurbish is for him.
A dirty but decent looking C64 was retrieved from the stash and the refurb was started. Join in as we go through it step by step cleaning it up, fixing the problem we find and doing a through test. An S-Video adapter cable is made, an old S-Video to HSMI adapter dug out of a box, a new Kevin Ottum power supply and SD2IEC was obtained as well as other bits and bobs to put together a good starter system.
Join us to see how it all turns out.
