Tormach is very open to letting their employees use all the equipment to make their personal projects. Dylan, our Machine Design Engineer, was asked by his friends at the University of Illinois Baja SAE Race Team to cut some U-Joints for this years Baja car.

Roughing:
Depth of Cut: 3mm
Step Over: 3mm
Spindle: 10000 RPM
Feed rate: 2500 mm/min

Finishing:
Depth of Cut: ~0.5mm
Tolerance: 0.1 mm
Spindle: 10000 RPM
Feed rate: 2500 mm/min
