Depending on the model, you can get some of the more advance features such as the auto align function and laser plumb reference.
Major advancements from the Topcon TP-L5 to the TP-L6:
The first major advancement from the TPL5 to the TPL6 is that the TPL6 is about three inches shorter than the TPL5. This allows the pipe laser to fit more snug in the inverts making it easier for the guys in the field. The second major advancement on the TPL6 is that the pipe laser is now compatible with Topcon's app, Laser Manager. This app allows the user to configure most of the parameters without having to touch the laser. This means no more climbing down in manholes, trenches, and confined spaces to check grade or change the settings.
