We've seen many wonderful, natural regions in our home state of Kansas, but the one that we are the most in love with is the Flint Hills. Fortunately for us we are located in the very heart of this region. Containing some of the last of the tallgrass prairie that once covered North America from Canada to Mexico, hiking in the Flint Hills is like stepping back in time. This land of rivers and rolling plains is not only our home, but also home to a vast ecosystem of plants and wildlife found nowhere else in the world. From deer and blue heron to bison and bald eagles. This land of fiery sunsets and endless sky is one of the most spectacular hiking locations in the world. Often overlooked due to its lack of mountains, Kansas is so much more than a fly over state! We're still exploring them, but allow us to share with you our five favorite hiking locations in the Flint Hills...so far!
