I restyle a Tonner doll into a witchy Practical Magic-inspired character using fashion, styling and miniature details.
Welcome to a special literary heroine's collaboration! Today, I’m transforming Ellowyne into Franny Owens from Alice Hoffman's "The Rules of Magic." This novel is the enchanting prequel to "Practical Magic," following the early lives of the beloved Aunties, Franny and Jet, in 1960s New York City.
I created an Owens-inspired garden setting filled with herbs, potion bottles, a miniature cast-iron cauldron, a black cat and an Owens Family Book of Magic. The grey-and-black parasol at the end is a small Easter egg for the unforgettable final scene in the Practical Magic movie.

In this video, I explore Franny’s journey from a stubborn, rational teenager to the formidable red-haired Aunt Francis we meet in the 1998 film. I've curated three distinct looks for Ellowyne that represent different chapters of Franny's life, complete with custom-made jewelry and magical accessories.
