After 22 years in her box, my 2004 French Trench Blythe is finally coming out. In this full French Trench unboxing, I take a close look at her SBL face mold, original stock outfit, eye colors, hair and all the little details that have been waiting inside since 2004.
I knew almost nothing about French Trench when I bought her, but the more I learned, the more she started to feel like my mini-me. We both have side-parted brown hair, green eyes, a love of dogs, mysteries and France—and once I read her trading card, I knew she needed a life beyond the box.
I made her tiny baguettes, mystery novels, stand covers and an Eiffel Tower necklace, then created a little kitchen scene for her with her miniature chihuahua, Inspector Clouseau. I’m also putting together a capsule wardrobe for her because she’ll be coming with me on my first trip back to Paris in 30 years.
And by the end of the video, French Trench finally gets a real name: Camille.

A little French Trench Easter egg: Her favorite number is 110, which is the police emergency number in Japan. Since she loves mysteries and imagines herself as a detective, it seems like a clever little nod to her personality—although I couldn’t find an official explanation from Takara confirming it. 🔎🚓🇯🇵
