Hi Guys and Gals today we have here TOMY Harvey (and me being rather silly), I bought this on ebay and it arrived with TOMY Chuggington Wilson but I have not had enough time to make this video, today was the day though!! You see Oliver being himself and derailing even just by looking at the points, and Harvey being useful under orders of Sir Topham Hat.
The box has some lovely pictures of the train which are identicle to the engine contained within, upon opening the box you are greeted with harvey who is a free rolling engine who is pushed along by his green work coach, it also contains the flatbed with a permanently attached load.
The engines appearance and details are excellent, its a very handsome engine in person which is a surprise as its very ugly in the show but it does serve its purpose, I am not a fan of the face which I don't think really suits this engine, it looks like it has a mouthful of marbles haha. the powering work coach does not really have as good detail as harvey itself and I suppose this is good because the locomotive draws the eye away from the work coach, the flatbed looks decent enough but the load would be better if it was removable as I feel this would increase the play value.
The powered work coach is powered by a single C size battery and the cover is removed by unscrewing the screw in the front corner from underneath, the is a large weight behind the drive unit which I guess assists with balancing the heavy weight of the C size battery and also giving excellent traction to push Harvey and also to pull a train.
You will notice I did not do any tests today such as the "like a boss" pulling test, "the water tower" and "turntable" as i wasn't feeling very scientific today LOL. I know that these type of push along engines do not work on the turntable anyways, I can't see why he wouldn't fit through the water tower as most TOMY engines do. I will report later in the comments if I do test him further.
I am very happy that this motorized coach takes a C size as i can use it as an "assist car" for Mr.Motorman to push along any engine at all :) I wont look too out of place between any engine or train and i could describe it as a "head end power car" which are needed by some real life locomotives here where we live.
I give this locomotive a score of 9/10 I am very happy with it but my only gripe is they should have put traction tyres on the locomotive itself but I can overlook this.
