Hi Guys and Girls here we have the first of the 3 King of the railway engines Trackmaster Stephen the Rocket. The real life version which this character is based on was built in 1829 :O
So upon unboxing we find this delightful little engine who is quite a bit longer than I feel it should be but the length of the flat type drive unit dictates the size of this locomotive. there was a part on the tender that has not been painted properly or the paint has rubbed off slightly somewhere between where it was painted and my receiving it. This is not a real concern to be honest because a sharpie can fix that, it also has plastic one piece wheel and axles on the tender which could be a concern in the future as they could wear down, become brittle and possibly gunk up. Those small concerns aside this loco looks great and is quite well finished.
The locomotive runs on a AA battery and the flat type drive unit has the springy type negative battery terminal, it runs absolutely beautifully let me tell you! and is it ever so quiet to boot! quite a fast engine although it has to be said that it wasn't pulling allot of weight as its train is very light especially the tender with the screws being the only metal part. The front wheels turn well despite having no traction tires on them (I wonder if Emily's wheels would fit?) the traction rods or side rods look great and it really does resemble Stephenson's Rocket if you kind of squint as it goes past :D
I plan on customizing its look a bit possibly with parts from a Dapol model kit but that will be a future video ;D
