Here is a transfer from an original Victor 78 of "Canned Heat Blues" by legendary Delta blues guitarist and singer Tommy Johnson (1896-1956).
Canned heat was a solidified methanol alcohol in a can, sold for use as a fuel under the name Sterno. It was consumed by hobos and desperate alcoholics, particularly during the 1920s-1930s, as a cheap alternative to the usual ethanol alcohol. Drinking even a small amount of methanol can cause blindness and chronic consumption is often fatal.
