One of the best possible way to end this year is of course a piano cover from one of my favorite anime series this year: The second season of Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka?
The song itself is extremely catchy already, but the real deal is the ending animation. Upon seeing it the first time in episode 1, I had multiple heart attacks at once because I couldn't handle the moe-overdose.
Best. ending. animation. ever.
The rabbit dance by Chino, Maya and Megumi always brings a smile to my face, and this is also the reason why 2D is superior to everything else and why everyone should watch GochiUsa and w-
....alright, alright, I'll stop here, before it gets too long.
Anyway, the second season of GochiUsa was the series I was most looking forward to and it exceeded all expectations. This is a prime example of slice-of-life anime with a wonderful cast of characters and a very good comedic timing in each episode.
Well then, that's it for the year 2015!
Thank you for watching my piano covers and I hope you enjoyed listening to them! Let's see what kind of anime songs we will hear in 2016 and I am really looking forward to it!
Last but not least: I mentioned it on my twitter already, but my first project for 2016 will be Brave shine - the OP of Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works.
See you in January next year again!

![My Soul, your Beats! - Angel Beats! OP [Piano]
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/74157
Back then in 2010 when Angel Beats! was still airing, I wanted to arrange the opening at any cost, because the music was practically made to be played on the piano. It used to be one of the most hyped opening songs and I wanted to made a special piano cover so I can meet everyones expectations.
I immediately started to work on the arrangement but I was struggling with the complicated piano parts in the original song. Then a day has become a week and I was still nowhere done with the arrangement. I think ultimately, I put too much pressure on myself and after weeks of endless struggle, I finally gave up my Angel Beats! piano arrangement project. The original sheet is still remaining unfinished at 40 % progress until today.
Now, almost three years later, Ive gained enough confidence to give it one more try to redeem my past failure. While arranging this piece, I remembered the hard days from back then when I couldnt make any progress for days. Ive decided to put all my heart and soul in this arrangement to make this arrangement the piano piece I have always wished for.
This video is also dedicated to all the people, who have been waiting years for my piano cover of My Soul, your Beats. Thank you very much for listening, because this piece means a lot to me and after uploading this arrangement I have finally found my inner peace again.

I recorded this piano piece a few month ago and its the final part of the key modern medley the 12th track of the key15th anniversary Global Collaborative Arrange Album, a compilation album of Key music made by fans of the studio from around the world. The album primarily consists of custom-made cover music, though some original tracks are also included.

You can listen to the complete Key Modern Medley - a piano medley featuring music of Angel Beats, Little Busters and Rewrite - on the digital album, which you can download - completely free of charge- on the official website:

Many thanks to the countless artist, including numerous other famous youtubers such as TheIshter, xclassicalcatx, and Kyle Landry, for making this amazing tribute album possible!
A few words about this piece:
Philosophyz is the opening song of the Visual Novel Rewrite by Visual Arts / key, and its ranked among my top 10 favorite opening songs of all time. The incredible voice of Runa Mizutani in the chorus always send me a cold shiver down the spine.
Since this piece was solely recorded for the album, there are no video footages, only the sound has been recorded.
Everything has been improvised, so this means, there are no piano sheets for this piece
As an extra, I included a small excerpt of Tabi - the menu screen music - at the end of this piece as well.
Well then, lets hope my left hand will heal quickly so I can upload the piano cover of the long awaited Main Theme of Sword Art Online - Swordland.
Until then -
Animenz
PS: the best heroine route in Rewrite was Akanes, but Shizuru is still the cutest girl.

![Black Catcher (Black Clover OP10) [Piano] / Vickeblanka
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/66720
Black Clover has many great opening songs but my personal favorite is still Black Catcher by Vickeblanka. Because nothing beats the epic chorus melody LEEEEEETS DYE THIS WORLD!!!. Absolutely amazing song.
The left hand is playing an important role in this arrangement as both the rhythm engine and the guitar bassline for the entire piece. Precise pedal control is also necessary to not muddy the left hand too much, especially during the verse in 0:18.
① Bass lines are the best! 1:16
I realized the bass guitar in Black Catcher is always playing a very distinctive melody during the chorus and I tried to replicate it in my piano arrangement as well. I had to modify the melody a little bit, so the left hand can play both the melody line and the chord progression at the same time in 1:16. I also used octaves in the last chorus in 2:42 to make the bass line stand out even more.
② Guitar solo, but played on the piano 2:14
Black Catcher is a really groovy song but the awesome guitar solo in the bridge stood out to me the most. I added additional 6ths notes to make it sound more virtuosic on the piano in 2:14. This passage also reminded me a little bit of a certain Chopin etude: You are playing very fast sixth notes on mainly black keys - does this sound familiar to any pianists here?
③ New BPM record (as of now)
This piece doesnt feel particularly fast but it actually has the highest tempo I have ever used in a sheet: 200 BPM! The biggest challenge for me was to play the left hand rhythms as precise possible - without this important rhythm engine, the entire piece would sound flat. But once you master the left hand, Its a really fun piece to play on the piano!
Well then, thats it everyone! Thank you for reading this weeks Animenz explains! Next week I will upload a remake of an old arrangement of mine - something I havent done in a while.
See you next time again!

![Giornos Theme (il vento doro) - JoJos Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind [Piano]
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/42024
I have always wanted to arrange music from JoJo and today is finally the day!
Giornos Theme (or: il vento droro) is probably one of the most recognizable JoJo Soundtrack within the Anime community and I challenged myself to create a piano arrangement, which can live up to its name.
The arrangement itself is basically a Piano Etude because the left hand is spamming syncopated octaves nonstop in 0:18, 1:28 and 2:20 and it is fairly challenging to master it. You need a lot of stamina and a good sense of rhythm in order to maintain the groovy bassline of this piano arrangement. Because without that groovy rhythm, the entire piece would sound flat on the piano.
Giornos Theme is also one of the Jazziest pieces I have ever arranged and its especially noticeable in the instrumental solo part in 1:28. Instead of copying exactly the original saxophone voice of the original song, I created my own piano solo part, to make the best use of all 88 keys on the piano.
The famous piano solo part in 3:08 also deserves some mention. This is the only time where I am playing legato in order to create an eerie atmosphere... before the enemy is being MUDA MUDA MUDAd into oblivion (btw, this song is known in Japan
as the execution theme (処刑用BGM)
I hope you also liked the special video editing this week with the MUDA MUDA MUDA effects in 3:50! I realized that playing tremolo on the piano with both hands looks very similar to the famous Rush Attack in the JoJo series. Perfect timing I guess.
Last but not least, the STAND stats infographic at the end of the video in 4:00 deserves some explanation as well. They are basically describing the various parameters of this piano arrangement:
POWER: A
How much the music can excite the audience. Giornos theme has a meme status already, therefore A.
SPEED: B
Self explanatory. This is not the fastest piece, but its still moderately fast.
MELODY: B
A simplified term for the complexity of the piece. The more three-hand technique or polyrhythm, the more complex it becomes.
STAMINA: B
How much stamina you need to play this piece. The Octave Spamming is challenging, but I have played worse, so this is still B.
TECHNIQUE: A
How many years of experience you need in order to play this piece. Maintaining the rhythm in the left hand is very difficult here.
RHYTHM: S
Self explanatory. This Song has a very complex rhythm, especially the Solo part in 1:28 is mind-bogglingly difficult.
Well then, thats it for this weeks Animenz Explains!
I hope you enjoyed the first part of my JoJos Bizarre Piano Project! My next JoJo Piano Arrangement will be uploaded, after the voting has ended! (see my YouTube Community post!)

![Avid - 86 / Eighty-Six (Episode 22 version) ED [Piano] / Hiroyuki Sawano
Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/61268
This piano arrangement of 「Avid」 is directly inspired by episode 22 of the anime series. It has probably one of the most beautiful cinematography I have ever seen in a TV anime and the emotional rollercoaster was simply overwhelming. The final two episodes of Eighty Six was delayed for three months but in exchange we got a cinema-level of anime production – absolutely worth it.
The official name for the OST used in ep 22 is called 「Voices of the Chord」and it’s basically an orchestral version of the ED song 「Avid」. My piano arrangement is based on the full size of 「Avid」but I adopted a slow tempo based on the orchestra version and have modified the flow of the music a little bit to make it more cinematic, including a key change in 4:08. I also used many orchestration methods in this piano arrangements to fully capture the beauty of episode 22.
① New pedaling technique
Fitting to the lyrics of 「Avid」(it calls, it calls), I let the piano resonate its sound a bit more than usual by mostly using half pedal during the performance and releasing the sustain pedal very slowly for longer notes. This creates a very interesting mixed harmonic, which slowly clears up by itself until only a very few notes remain. It can be heard in 1:47, 4:04, and 5:02.
② Emptiness in the music
Since the main character Shinei has earned the title of grim reaper during his long duty on the battlefield, I cannot possibly imagine the amount of loneliness he is feeling, especially if he is being left behind again. The second verse in 1:49 reflects the emptiness of Shineis mind and the melody is split up into tiny fragments, never reaching its full melody.
③ The miracle in the flower field
[ep. 22 spoilers]
In one of the final scenes of the anime, Shinei has accepted his fate and the music in 3:38 suddenly drops to a bare minimum, slowly diminishing until almost nothing is left in 4:01. Then, the key change in 4:08 happens: This is the moment where Major Milize steps into the battlefield and Shineis destiny is changed forever. The landscape suddenly changes from a blue sea of Insects into a beautiful red flowerbed.
The miracle must be dramatically celebrated at the climax. The left hand is hitting the lower bass notes for the first time to achieve an enormous orchestral sound while the right hand is playing a secondary melody (consisting of thirds and fourths) to represent the red spider lilies dancing in the wind. This is the moment I was waiting for in the anime. This is the moment why I live for Anime and Anime music. And this is why anime is simply the best art.
[/ep. 22 spoilers]
Alright, thank you for reading this week’s Animenz explains! It has been a really, really long time since I was that moved by an anime episode and I hope I can experience more moments like this again in the future. A moment where everything just feels right.
Thank you for watching my piano arrangement and see you in the next video again!

Hello everyone. Its been a month since my last upload, and I apologize for that.
To be honest, I was having a very hard time in march, because I couldnt finish any of my planned projects.
I started a lot projects including piano arrangements from Clannad After Story, Air and Kanon (2006) but none of them has been finished, because... I just dont know. I was in a blockade.
And even before I knew, the month has ended, and I didnt achieve anything.
I was very depressed after I realized that I effectively wasted a whole month and I began to seclude myself.
After I dropped all my planned projects for march, I started to play the Kancolle browser game, and slowly became addicted to it. Days after days, I was just sitting in front of my computer and level-grinding my ships in Kancolle, and I havent touched the piano for almost a week.
Ten days ago, I posted my current mental status on social media and announced my semi-retirement. But the amount of feedback was really amazing. So many people have been supporting me over the years, and I didnt realize that my piano covers could reach the hearts of so many people. I really wanted to thank these people by uploading something special, but... I still didnt have any idea what project I should start.
And then, the soundtrack of the Kancolle anime has been released - and my face immediately lit up: The soundtrack was simply gorgeous! The incredible majestic Sortie! theme and the slow string instrument pieces with a heartbreaking melody - suddenly my mind was exploding with ideas again.
Therefore I decided to do another soundtrack piano medley, similar as I did with the Magica Madoka medley, and began to work on the sheet every day. After spending more than 40 hours on the sheet, I was finally done - and I was relieved. Really really relieved. Because I have finally found my inspiration again.
This piano medley also partially reflects my struggle in the past few weeks: It begins with a very dark funeral march in g#-minor - similar to my depressed condition - but after days of struggling and contemplation, I finally overcame my depression and therefore, the piece also ends in a triumphant F-major finale.
I couldnt have done this without your support everyone, therefore:
Thank you!
I also just reached incredible 300.000 subscribers! Its still unbelievable to see how big my channel has grew since I started it in 2009.
Well then, I hope that my passion for the piano will never fade, so I can continue doing the thing I like the most: Creating anime piano arrangements!
I hope I can see you again in the upcoming anime season!
Until then~

It took me some time to properly memorize all 6 openings from the three seasons of Shakugan no shana, but I finally managed it (somehow).
Since everything is improvised (I think this is my 3rd take).
Also, for the first time I used 2 cameras to switch the camera angle between every new Opening, the idea is inspired by Tehishters videos.
Well, I hope you liked it, since I really really adore ALL Shakugan no Shana openings.
Seriously, the Shana OPs are the best thing ever, the Mami Kawada and Kotoko combination is just too awesome.
Okay, thats would be my last video for the spring anime season.

Sheet music → https://mymusic.st/animenzzz/74156
This is another special type arrangement and its the first Ballad type arrangement since my Nagi no Asukara Piano Medley in 2014. Initially, I wanted to upload a piano cover from the current Anime Season, but... for some reason, I didnt felt any inspiration at all and couldnt finish any of my started projects.
So instead, I made an arrangement of something Ive always wanted to cover and thats of course a song from BanG Dream!
I have started playing BanG Dream! since July 2019 and I have went very deep into the rabbit hole of Gacha Hell Mobile Games. But I have no regrets: the Characters are really well written and their original Songs are simply addicting.
I have many favorite Bandori Songs, but Kizuna Music is probably the only one, which I will never grow tired of.
Since the original song is a powerful Rock song from start to finish, I was initially planning to do a similar fast-paced piano arrangement. But I thought.... why not try something different for once? How would Kizuna Music sound if it has been composed as a piano song from the very beginning? And from this point on, more and more ideas flew in and I transformed the original song into a slow Ballad type arrangement.
While arranging this song, I also remembered my humble beginnings as an piano arranger: Just the melody and very basic accompaniment, nothing else. It is the very essence of piano music, and I almost forgot how good simplicity can sound on the piano. In terms of my personal arrangement progress, this is probably the spiritual successor of my Snow Halation (Love Live!) arrangement from 2016 . While the first one is focused on utilizing all aspects of piano technique, this one is focused to draw out the music from the piano.
I also included an Easter egg for all the BanG Dream players in this arrangement: just imagine that !FEVER! is popping up at 5:42.
To be honest, in the last few weeks, I was pondering what my role on YouTube should be in the future. Due to my infrequent upload rate - mainly because of my own obsession with perfectionism - I cannot become a regular Youtuber. To be honest, I am still surprised how someone un-Youtube-ish like me has made it so far. I mean, my video editing is basic, I dont follow trending topics, and I only upload occasionally...
And yet, 1.5 Million people has subscribed me.
For this, I will always be grateful.
Therefore, thank you for listening my videos and as always, I will continue doing my best.

![Boys be Smile - Little Busters!: Refrain OP [Piano]
Im back again for the fall anime season 2013 and my first piano cover for this season is the Little Busters Refrain Opening, Boys Be smile.
Finally! The continuation of Little Busters anime is here! I cant wait for the finale, there will be massive amount of feels ;_;
This piano cover was supposed to be one of my easier transcriptions but after edting and editing, the sheet turned out a bit more difficult than I intended.
I expanded the TV size OP by appending an excerpt of boys dont cry, a BGM in the LIttle Busters Visual Novel, since the OP itself is based on this particular piece.
I have also improved my audio by using EQs and compressor, the sound quality is really good now! (at least as good as it gets with my current microphones)
Also, I added a small watermark-link on the lower left corner, because I am fed up with people stealing my videos. Hope you dont mind.

Ah, K-ON! These were really good times. I could never forget the moment, when I was watching the awesome ending animation of episode 1 while listening [dont say lazy] for the first time. I really cant believe K-ON! has aired more than a decade ago. K-ON! was so hyped back then, it attracted an equal amount of both haters and hardcore fans and they were fighting with each other on the internet constantly. These were really good old times (笑).
Anyway, recording this weeks upload was more exhausting than expected, because this is one of the most intense arrangements I have done for a while. Its basically FULL POWER from start to finish, without any breaks. It also holds a record for the largest number of glissando I have ever used in my arrangements: 8 times in total. (including a two-hand glissando in 3:28)
This arrangement requires quite a lot of stamina for the left hand because it is constantly playing alternating rhythmic patterns throughout the whole piece - like a drummer. Thanks to a certain rhythm game I have been playing since 2019, I started to focus more on the rhythmic variations in the left hand, whenever I am improvising a new song.
The biggest challenge of this arrangement was actually figuring out the unique melody pattern for the bridge part in 3:01. I still have no idea what kind of musical scale I was using but it does a good job building up a lot of tension leading to the climax in 3:05.
I have to say, its been a while since I have so much fun recording a new piece because I rarely have the opportunity to play fortissimo for almost 4 minutes nonstop. I particularly enjoyed playing these rhythmic variations the left hand. In fact, in one of my earlier takes, I was subconsciously stomping my left foot while playing to match the rhythm and it was so loud, it even became audible in the recording. I needed to record a new take again (笑)
No idea what I am going to cover next week though.
Definitely another nostalgia Anime song I guess but I still havent decided yet.
In any case -
see you next week!
