This presentation will start by taking a quick look at more than a century of work on creativity measurement and development. Then, recent work will be highlighted with a focus on results from the EPoC battery (Evaluation of Potential for Creativity), that assesses creative potential in children and adolescents across several content domains (graphic, verbal-literary, social, scientific, mathematical, musical, body movement). In a second part of the presentation, the development of creativity using non-traditional educational activities will be showcased. In particular, recent research on board games as an activity to support creative thinking will be presented.
