The Grant-Kohrs Ranch is a National Historic Site located in Deer Lodge, Montana. It preserves the former location of one of the largest cattle ranches in American history. In fact, the National Park Service still operates a working cattle ranch on the property today - a form of living history where you can see exactly how the ranch might have been run back in the eighteenth century.
For this park, I'd recommend 3/4 to a full day to visit. The park is small enough where you can walk around and see everyone you need to see, but dense enough to where you're going to want to check out all of the interpretation signs, talk to the historical reenactors, and do the house tour. You might even get to see the work horses, which are more than 6ft tall, in action.
This is a great park for lovers of Western history, and I think a park like this acts like a microcosm of that region's history overall. Definitely check it out if you're headed to SW Montana (it's only about 1.25 hrs from Missoula and 2 hrs from Bozeman).
