Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site (@carlsandburghomenhs) is located in the town of Flat Rock, NC. This NPS location preserves the home of the late port Carl Sandburg, and his wife Lilian. This is an easy park to visit for a day trip from Asheville, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, or many other Western North Carolina locations. You'll find the Sandburg's historic home, a robust agricultural area (including a goat petting area!), and even some short hiking opportunities. This is a great park for the enjoyers of American history, and especially lovers of literature. It's pretty off the beaten path, and you're not likely to see many crowds here. Check it out if you're in the area!
