Tinkerer was supposed to be one of the most exciting exotics ever introduced to The Division 2, bringing back the spirit of AlphaBridge by allowing your primary weapon to borrow the talent from your secondary weapon. On paper, it’s a brilliant concept. In reality, buggy interactions, inconsistent talent behavior, and unintended damage combinations turned the mask into one of the most controversial exotics in the game. Now, with Season 2’s current environment effectively shutting down the playstyle that made Tinkerer so popular, the question has to be asked: was this exotic doomed by its implementation from the start, or has The Division 2 finally put the final nail in the coffin for one of its most ambitious build-defining items?
