Hello Everyone!! Welcome to my first RP & Contest--Time Laspe!
I'm so excited, so lets get right to it!

Theme/Story: Your character who lives in modern times is going through a museum/library/meadow when they find a pocket watch that is stopped at that very minute in time. When they touch it time freezes for present day and they are sent back in American History to the founding of Jamestown (Pocahontas' Time) and to get back to present day you need to find the hidden object. (Which will be announced each round) Once the object is found you move on to the next time period...at least you hope...
Basically, you pick a character you want to edit with throughout the competition. Comment below with the form describing your character, background, personality, etc. Your character can be a history buff, or maybe they were just walking through the museum bored to tears when they find the watch. Show them finding the watch and being transported to Pocahontas' time period. After that the story will continue for round 1!
Rules:
~ Deadline July 16th (For finished video, once your character has been approved.)
~ Please try to keep everything PG, nothing to gory, sexy, or inappropriate.
~ This is a 2D Competition only (Sorry CGI maybe next time)
~ Only one character and no repeating characters for obvious reasons.
~ Humans only. (Since this takes place on earth no fantasy creatures or anthropomorphic animals.)
~ Non/Disney Only (but you can also use Liberty Kids, or under-edited films) Note: You will be judged on video quality, so be careful when picking a character.
~ You can of course use other characters to help your main character move on the the next time period, but don't use other editors main characters without asking the other editor for permission first. ;)
~ If you do use another person's character please note it in the description of your video. ;)
~ Please not masks you have made in your description by inserting the seconds they appear in your video. 0:10 - 0:12, etc. That way you can receive credits for your masks. ;D
~ If you use other people's mask credit them and the seconds they appear in your video.
~ **This next part is for new editors or people inexperienced with masking** You MAY use other peoples mask BUT you MUST credit the owners of the masks in your description so the judges know that you didn't make the masks yourself. You will not get points for masking, but don't let that discourage you. You can make up for it with your story telling ability, originality, and other categories. If we find that you took other peoples mask without crediting the owner it will result in IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL from the rest of the game.

So, I rarely edit with Sleeping Beauty even though Aurora was my first favorite Disney princess and Prince Phillip my favorite prince. I guess because they are so special to me I just dont edit with them, it feels rare that a song will do them justice or show the themes that are woven throughout the movie. Honestly, Prince Phillip wasnt my go to for this part at first either as I signed up for this mep with Robin Hood, but my video malfunctioned and as I listened to the song trying to come up with a new idea, Prince Phillip kept coming up again and again and again. So, here is this part and Im thrilled that it fits so well!
While making this part I really wanted to capture Prince Phillips fight with Maleficent of good vs evil. Not the version of Maleficent weve seen in the Live Action movie but the pure evil Maleficent that was in the original film. This is one of my favorite movies because Disney showed that Maleficents power was evil and of the enemy, but they didnt end there, they showed how love and truth and Righteousness can conquer the enemy! Ive always been fascinated by how they used the Shield of Virtue and the Mighty Sword of Truth! If you know your Bible youll realize its a play on the Armor of God! The Shield of Faith and Sword of the Spirit (The Word of God)! (Ephesians 6:10 - 18) We have a very real enemy who wants to take us down, knock us out, and kill us, but Jesus already paid the price! (John 10:10) Through Him we have the victory! Its a Hard Love! For God SO loved the World He gave He gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life! [John 3:16] Does this mean everything is going to be easy? No. The Bible says to Count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations, knowing that the trying of your faith produces patience... (James 1:2-3) Trials and hardships and tests grow our character and mature our faith in Him. Otherwise, what is our faith if everything is easy all the time? Would it even be considered faith? But when things get tough, when we feel like giving up, we keep holding onto Gods promises, keep standing on His Word, Keep walking in Obedience to Him- thats when we truly walk in the victory and faith and fullness of Christ! No, its not easy, and a lot of times its not as visual as Prince Phillip fighting Maleficent... but were all waging war in our own ways and in the Spiritual Realm. That is why its so important to not just put your faith in God then keep living the way you always do, no its about having a relationship with Him! Putting him first in life, getting into His Word (The Bible) for it is His personal letter and testament of who He is to us, praying, listening to His voice, and Worship Him! With so many religions out there I know people wonder if its real or not... but I can honestly say that My God is a personal God, that He has always been faithful, that Ive seen too much of who He is and what Hes done in my life to walk away. He gave everything for me and I havent always done my best for Him but in this New Year I hope to draw even closer to Him than before. Im going to get back up and keep living and pursuing Him because its a hard love... and I want and need Him more than anything else in life!

For when we are weak and say we want to give up, He is there to carry us and say Dont worry, Ive got a plan for you! Its not over yet. When you are weak my child, Ill be your strength! I hope that this mep part is an encouragement to you! ♥
One last editing parallel/story! xD Madallaine was always told to Stand there and look pretty and to her she lost the true meaning of beauty, the beauty of a heart of love and grace, not just physical appearance, hence her ability to fall in love with Quasi! She also was able to feel beautiful being her fun loving, kind-hearted, giggling, dancing in the rain self! Anyway, Im done, I promise! XD
