So, I rarely edit with Sleeping Beauty even though Aurora was my first favorite Disney princess and Prince Phillip my favorite prince. I guess because they are so special to me I just don't edit with them, it feels rare that a song will do them justice or show the themes that are woven throughout the movie. Honestly, Prince Phillip wasn't my go to for this part at first either as I signed up for this mep with Robin Hood, but my video malfunctioned and as I listened to the song trying to come up with a new idea, Prince Phillip kept coming up again and again and again. So, here is this part and I'm thrilled that it fits so well!

While making this part I really wanted to capture Prince Phillips fight with Maleficent of good vs evil. Not the version of Maleficent we've seen in the Live Action movie but the pure evil Maleficent that was in the original film. This is one of my favorite movies because Disney showed that Maleficent's "power" was evil and of the enemy, but they didn't end there, they showed how love and truth and Righteousness can conquer the enemy! I've always been fascinated by how they used the "Shield of Virtue" and the "Mighty Sword of Truth!" If you know your Bible you'll realize it's a play on the Armor of God! The Shield of Faith and Sword of the Spirit (The Word of God)! (Ephesians 6:10 - 18) We have a very real enemy who wants to take us down, knock us out, and kill us, but Jesus already paid the price! (John 10:10) Through Him we have the victory! It's a Hard Love! For God SO loved the World He gave He gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life! [John 3:16] Does this mean everything is going to be easy? No. The Bible says to "Count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations, knowing that the trying of your faith produces patience..." (James 1:2-3) Trials and hardships and tests grow our character and mature our faith in Him. Otherwise, what is our faith if everything is easy all the time? Would it even be considered faith? But when things get tough, when we feel like giving up, we keep holding onto God's promises, keep standing on His Word, Keep walking in Obedience to Him- that's when we truly walk in the victory and faith and fullness of Christ! No, it's not easy, and a lot of times it's not as visual as Prince Phillip fighting Maleficent... but we're all waging war in our own ways and in the Spiritual Realm. That is why it's so important to not just put your faith in God then keep living the way you always do, no it's about having a relationship with Him! Putting him first in life, getting into His Word (The Bible) for it is His personal letter and testament of who He is to us, praying, listening to His voice, and Worship Him! With so many religions out there I know people wonder if it's real or not... but I can honestly say that My God is a personal God, that He has always been faithful, that I've seen too much of who He is and what He's done in my life to walk away. He gave everything for me and I haven't always done my best for Him but in this New Year I hope to draw even closer to Him than before. I'm going to get back up and keep living and pursuing Him because it's a hard love... and I want and need Him more than anything else in life!
