It took me thirty one hours and three airlines to get from Hartford to San Francisco, and another day to get my bag which was, for some reason, in Washington DC. But the chance to sing with friends and eat a meal at the Pakistani taqeria "El Sombrero" in Berkeley more than made up for it, not to mention a chance to walk the beach on the other side of the country. I wanted to do a video in the redwoods, but it was raining too hard by that point.
This song is on two Cordelia's Dad records, which I had forgotten about. We put it on the German release Joy Fun Garden in 1993 and a live version (from somewhere in Germany, also 1993) on the 1996 live electric CD Roadkill. I learned it around 1989 from a cassette tape I got off Peter Kennedy in England of Anne and Frank Warner's recording of Lee Monroe Presnell, Beech Mountain, NC.
