In 2004, two F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets launch from the USS Nimitz for a routine training exercise over the Pacific Ocean. But the mission is suddenly interrupted. Radar aboard the USS Princeton has been tracking strange objects appearing at extreme altitudes, descending within seconds, and hovering above the ocean.
When Commander David Fravor reaches the designated coordinates, he sees something the world will later come to know as the Tic Tac UFO—a white object with no wings, no tail, and no visible engine, moving sharply and unpredictably above a churning patch of ocean.
