Meteorologist Ashley Renee has your 8:15 am forecast. Good morning everyone and happy Thursday! Showers and thunderstorms are moving through our area this morning so be very careful on the roads and give yourself extra time to get to your destination. Showers will continue through the end of the morning. Light rain and heavy downpours will occur at times like earlier this morning before sunrise. A few strong thunderstorms also moved through our area before sunrise. That could occur again before the morning ends. There might be a small break in the rain around midday, but overall, rain and thunderstorms will be on and off through tonight. Because of the mostly cloudy skies and rain, today's highs will only be near 90. Some towns might have high temperatures that don't exceed the upper 80s. This will be a nice little relief from the hotter temperatures we've had over the last month. The rain will end for a little while tonight, but a few showers could start up again during the overnight period. Scattered thunderstorms will also be in our area tomorrow...mainly in the afternoon and evening. Friday morning will be mostly dry with the exception of a few isolated showers that could be in our area during the morning commute. Shower and storm activity will increase in the afternoon and evening. Saturday and Sunday mornings will be mainly dry. Spotty showers and thunderstorms will be around in the afternoons and evenings. Daily rain chances will continue through next week. Some will pick up 1-3 inches of rainfall by the end of the week. Thanks for watching. Have a triumphant Thursday!
