Season 12's fourth challenge saw us playing Xexex released by Konami in 1991 this time chosen by MarBlaster.
This is a class shmup similar to Gradius or R-type set over seven stages, the player pilots a ship called the Flintlock which uses a detachable orb called Flint, which behaves similar to R-Type's "Force Device" or Gradius' "Option" mixed with the "tentacle mechanics" from X Multiply. We're playing the Japanese version here which has significant differences between US and international versions where the game is known as Orius.
I really enjoyed this challenge, I put a good few hours into it but just couldn't beat stage 3 which I have a feeling will be a wall for a few of the others taking part. Anyway, here's my attempt....
