Thousands are fleeing southern Lebanon as Israel launches fresh air strikes at Hezbollah positions.

Israeli strikes killed at least 492 people on Monday, the deadliest day for the country since the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, the Lebanese health ministry said.

The main highway to Beirut was jammed with cars, vans and trucks loaded with belongings and people moving north in an unprecedented exodus.
