In part two of my HUGE Thomas & Friends merchandise collection study we will look at Thomas & Friends Christmas Pack. Thomas & Friends 100 Building Blocks (NOT Thomas Wooden Railway). Compare the classic Thomas take Along with a Thomas Push Along. Thomas & Friends Gardening Set from 2014 and classic earlier gardening tools. Thomas & Friends clothes, shoes, socks, caps, underware. Also take a look at some suspicious Thomas & Friends themes clothes and weird knock off web search results. Thomas & Friends Race To The Rescue book and card playset with a strange wind up Thomas The Tank. Along the way we learn about consumer affairs, material science and toy marketing.
My giant Thomas and Friends merchandise collection is laid out for all to see. This collection mainly came from a local charity shop that used to collect Thomas The Tank toys for me. Over a period of around 5 years this Thomas merchandise collection grew and grew. There is some absolute amazing items in this collection and also some that are not amazing at all. Via this collection you can see the shift over the years in how Thomas & Friends were presented. I can't look over this whole collection in detail but I will pick out the good, the bad and the ugly over a series of review style videos.

Whilst merchandise was produced alongside due to the popularity of the first of The Railway Series books by the Rev. W. Awdry since 1945, and the original broadcast of the television series in 1984 in the United Kingdom, large numbers of manufacturers have sought to produce Thomas-branded items after the television series was broadcast in America and Japan. The most popular and wide-ranging items of merchandise are the models of the characters, which have been produced in many different ranges, some including accompanying railway systems. The Rev. W. Awdry created the original toy model of Thomas the Tank Engine, which inspired the character, soon after the first book of stories was complete. In 1927, while still at school, he built Annie, and in 1948, he built Clarabel. Other popular products include videos, books and magazines, and computer games. 'Thomas' merchandise has also included such diverse items as: audiobooks, annuals, colouring and activity books, jigsaws, board games, stationery, clothing, cutlery, household items such as curtains, duvet covers and lampshades, and soft drinks and Spaghetti shapes.
