leokimvideo | Apple Studio Display Major Fail Sneaky Look Inside & Onion Rings Refund Part 2 @leokimvideo | Uploaded July 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
My Apple Studio Display blew up after 18 months. This video looks into the Studio Display failure via information on ifixit.com web site. I transpose a Studio Display teardown picture via a grid to understand where the 'magic smoke' was coming from. This Studio Display is very impressive as it has a logic board with A13 Bionic chip and 64 GB of storage that runs iOS. There's a split power supply on two boards and two large fans that vent to the top of the Studio Display. It's basically a giant iPhone 11 without a touchscreen or a hidden away iMac Mini.
I show in detail all around the case and and where the stand mounts into the rear of the Studio Display. Letting everyone see the condition my Studio Display was in as it was seen at the first Apple Genius Bar inspection.
This display went through a second inspection and 'capture' on the 18th July and the whole boring story was told from scratch even though there was already a full report made.
I have had to provide web orders and invoice info and it's important to remember the price of this display has not changed since it was for sale in Australia. So the 'price mystery' that was playing out at my local Apple store was pure BS. Their preferred resolution was for me to accept a replacement Studio Display. Considering what I witnessed on a cold Winter night when the Studio Display started to self destruct I couldn't consider it as a replacement. Remember 3 weeks earlier it was not behaving. That was the first signs of trouble and I did speak to Apple staff about this issue with not awakening from 'sleep'. I struggled through a very clunky Studio Display Firmware update at that time as well.
The Apple Studio Display (marketed as Studio Display) is a 27-inch flat panel computer monitor developed and sold by Apple Inc. It was announced on March 8, 2022, alongside the Mac Studio desktop, and was released on March 18, 2022. It is Apple's consumer display, sitting below its Pro Display XDR intended for professional users.
