Before Chaos happened on the show again, Chat was very suspiciously urging me to hydrate with chaos. I didn’t think much of it until this mildly cloudy liquid with little green bits floating in it manifested as our newest Chaos ingredient.
One sniff had me thinking of some green things, and some sticky things. Then I saw how stringy the liquid was and immediately knew what we were dealing with: okra water. The latest health craze, apparently.
Since it was mostly water anyway, it only made sense to try turning it into a whiskey highball. Equal parts okra water and sparkling mineral water, plus rye and Scotch, because why not make the hydration situation worse and better at the same time?
Let me tell you, I was not prepared for thick whiskey. Thiskey, if you will. And I was even less prepared to drink the entire jar of okra water after Chaos ended, because “okra water hydration” officially replaced our usual “put water in your body, bartender” redemption.

▷ 1 oz (30 ml) Rye Whiskey (Lancaster Distilleries)
▷ 1 oz (30 ml) Whisky (Johnnie Walker Black Label) @johnniewalkerwhisky
▷ Top with Equal Parts Okra Water and Sparkling Mineral Water (San Pellegrino) @SanPellegrinoTerme
Method: Build over ice
Garnish: Skewered Okra
