Do youtubers ruin everything? Is your city being gentrified because of Youtubers? Are cost of living videos making life worse for everyone?
I've made several videos about the cost of living in Mexico. And these have been some of the most popular videos on my channel. However a lot of people have been telling me that I'm the cause of gentrification in the city where I was living, Querétaro in Mexico. Querétaro is a city which has become very popular for Americans who want to move to Mexico and at the same time, the cost of living has risen a lot in recent years.
Now I am living in the beautiful city of Manizales in Colombia and naturally, I wanted to make another video about the cost of living and my monthly expenses in Colombia. But this time I was worried about what people would say. Would people think that I will cause gentrification in Colombia too?
As a digital nomad, I think that it's useful to know what the cost of living in a new place is, before I decide whether or not I should go. But so many people say that digital nomads like me cause gentrification. I don't know what's right.
