I'm playing a 1940s Radio Amp using a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom and it. NAILS Ace Frehley's solo tone on the 1975 Kiss album Alive!. It's a 4W all tube Centrum Radio Ljudsystem Amp with the stock Jensen PM8GS speaker. The Les Paul has a 1972 DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge. To me this makes it likely that a small amp like this was used both on stage and to record Alive! They probably used the Marshall JMP Super Leads too but this IS the solo tone.
