Elden Ring Patch 1.07 buffed many spells including Briars of Sin and Briars of Punishment. They benefited from a "Decreased the FP consumption and increased the blood loss status buildup on enemies" as well as an "Increased casting speed". In a few clips you can see the animation for the spell is sped up. This is done by casting a spell while jumping (swift glintstone shard), then switching and putting in an input for Briars of Sin. It is not 100% consistent, but still useful regardless.
