Tonight we’re diving into POOLSCAPE — a PSX-style horror game that throws you into a series of surreal backrooms-inspired liminal spaces filled with endless pools, eerie silence, and the constant feeling that something is lurking nearby.
POOLSCAPE starts in a central rooftop pool hub surrounded by massive colored tubes. Each tube acts as a portal leading to a different nightmare-like level, with 7 unique areas currently available and one additional tube still under construction, teasing a future update.
Even with its retro pixelated graphics and old-school PS1 aesthetic, this is honestly one of the creepiest backrooms horror games I’ve played. The atmosphere is incredibly unsettling, and the sound design constantly makes it feel like something is moving through these liminal spaces just out of sight.
From massive aquatic structures to dark abandoned poolrooms and dreamlike environments, every level feels strange, isolated, and deeply unnerving.
