Access Control Without Electronics? Mortice Lock 3572 Explained
In this video, I demonstrate a 3572-style mechanical mortice lock operating on an Onity access control system. This is a purely mechanical lock — there are no electronic components inside the mortice lock itself.
Unlike our previous video, which covered an electronic mortice lock connected to the same access control system, this setup works in a very different way. I explain how the system functions, how the access control interacts with a mechanical lock, and why this approach has been used reliably for many years.
This method offers a cheaper and more robust solution, with a major advantage: a mechanical backup option. If the electronic system fails, the lock can still be operated mechanically, giving users, facilities, and locksmiths a dependable fallback.
